Online Services or telemedicine
Online therapy or telemedicine has become increasingly popular in recent years. Telehealth is the use of telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care. With these advancements in technology, you can participate in online therapy video sessions, live chats or email correspondence with me from the comfort of your home or office. Many clients find this method of communication very beneficial especially if they have family, illness or work restrictions that prohibit them from coming to my office.
Online Services available to my clients
If you reside in the state of California you are welcome to engage in therapeutic services with me as an individual, couple or family. I also offer small (maximum 5 participants) online weekly grief groups. Please note not all client situations are appropriate for telemedicine and we can discuss this treatment option during our initial communication.
My telehealth partner (the technological information!)
I have joined forces with Simple Practice to provide HIPPA compliant, secure connections allowing all our online work together to be protected and confidential. Simple Practice is a cloud-based telehealth software service that provides secure, cloud-based software enabling us to communicate and interact via video conferencing.
Most people already have the technology required (desktop, laptop computer or smartphone, a strong internet connection and an external or built-in webcam) to use Simple Practice. Simple Practice works with Macintosh products, Window platforms and Andriod devices. Firefox and Chrome are the recommended browsers. Simple Practice provides the means to test your technology before trying to connect with me online.
Simple Practice operates over a completely secure, HIPAA compliant online platform. Simple Practice’s policies and procedures also include the administrative, technical, and physical safeguards required for the security of protected health information when using electronic health IT. The Simple Practice website employs 256 bit SSL encryption while their video conferencing software employs 128 bit SSL encryption. This is not only very secure and private but also completely HIPAA compliant.
